Infrared heat lamps are a popular way of providing heat for your reptile.
Infra red lamps are used for providing heat and energy for your reptile. The infrared lamps do not emit a full spectrum of light. Instead they emit just long wave heat radiation which your reptile will enjoy as it mimics the effect of the sun in your reptile’s natural environment. The heat lamps are usually put hanging from the lid of your reptile tank and most of them come with a conical cup that is used to place the lamp in. This makes sure that the heat from the lamp is beamed down onto a particular place in the reptile tank or vivarium.
A heat lamp works really well when placed above a natural rock as then the rock absorbs the heat and warms up just like rocks do in the wild and where reptiles in their natural habitat love to bask. As well as infrared lamps there is also a great range of basking lamps.
