Reptile Leashes

Any pet reptile owner with a lizard can use reptile leashes.  The leashes are designed for comfort and safety.  You may also be able to search for other reptile leashes like those for a turtle, but most often lizards are the only animals truly cooperative with a leash.
Most reptile leashes are made from leather or nylon.  The leather is strong and durable.  It is also less likely to be chewed by the lizard.  The nylon is also very strong and durable.  Depending on the style of reptile leashes you are interested in you could have a leather girth with a nylon lead or one that is completely made of one material.
All reptile leashes with have an adjustable girth.  This allows you to move the girth to a wider setting as your pet grows older and thus a little bigger in size.  The nylon lead with leather girth is comfortable to hold.  As part of most leashes you will have a pivoting safety clasp in case your reptile decides to go a different way.  The lead can move instead of getting twisted.
You will put the lizard between the leather and cord that comes with the leash.  Depending on the style of leash you purchase you may also have a place for the two front legs.  The leather will then be cinched, but when tightening the girth you want to be careful not to go too tight.  Make sure one finger can fit comfortably underneath the strap to avoid harming your reptile.
Once it is comfortable and secure in place you are able to take your pet for a walk.  Most leashes are available in various sizes to ensure all pet reptiles can have a leash.  Small leashes are mostly for geckos, while medium leashes work well for iguanas.  There are also large and extra large leash sizes with most manufacturers.  These larger leashes are for monitors, bearded dragons and other large reptiles.
