Keepers

Insect keepers and cricket keepers are designed to keep your pet reptiles food fresh. They even allow you to breed the insects or crickets at home if you prefer.

Cricket Keepers & Insect Tubs

Our site sells a specific type of insect and cricket keeper.  The design on our keeper is a small plastic tube, which houses the live food.
The insects and crickets are unable to breed in this tube, but they will remain alive as they make their way to you and while you are feeding the insects to your pet reptile.  The nice thing about the insect keepers and cricket keepers is that you are able to place the tube directly into the terrarium.  They are designed with a hole at the end so that the crickets or insects can slowly come out.
There are many benefits to the keepers.  We have mentioned a few like the fact that the tube can be placed in the terrarium for your reptile to feed as it gets hungry.  Another benefit is keeping the insects contained.  Some reptiles have an extremely hard time chasing the insects. Insects can hop or even injure your pet if they are older.  The tube for feeding keeps the insects close because their food source is inside.
The disadvantage to insect keepers and cricket keepers comes in the length of the actual bug.  Most insects and crickets will not live for more than a couple of weeks.  It is the life cycle that they have.  Based on this you need to ensure you obtain the proper size for the insect keepers.  A keeper that is too big will have the insects or crickets dying, before the pet reptile is done feeding.
You should purchase the cricket or insect keepers that are an appropriate size for your pet.  Small lizards, geckos or snakes will need a smaller feeding tube.  Our products are shipped quickly through the mail system to ensure the freshness of the insects.  The food inside will keep them alive even after you receive them.
The plastic tube insect keepers are not the only style of keepers that are on sale.  Other insect and cricket keepers are meant to be used as breeding cases.  These are generally small plastic aquariums or tanks like you would find for a pet mouse or gerbil.  The tank can be filled with insect food and you can breed your own live food.  For most people this doesn’t work as great because insects breed quicker than the pet reptile can eat them.
For an easy feeding method with live insects or crickets the insect and cricket keepers are your best bet.  Analyse the amount of food your reptile eats on a weekly basis and then choose the proper size container from there.  You do not have to place the insect keeper inside the terrarium.  You can also just place the amount of insects you want to feed your reptile to avoid overeating issues that your pet may experience and develop as a result of more food.
