Reptile Hammocks & Reptile Ladders

These accessories are designed to provide easy access to heights as well as offering a place to bask in the sun.
Zoo Med is one manufacturer of reptile hammocks.  There are other manufacturers.  The Zoo Med option like the others will be made from a soft nylon material.  The nylon is created in a mesh look to allow a lofty, yet accessible perch for your reptile.  The hammock can be placed between two artificial or live trees depending on what you prefer.  The arboreal area will make your reptile feel quite at home, especially if they are from the rainforest.  The reptile hammocks come with suckers to hook it to the glass.  They are not long so you must place the hammock between the short side of your aquarium.
The hammock can be placed lower in the tank if you do not wish to purchase the reptile ladder to go with the mesh hammock.  However, it is nice to also have the ladder to allow your pet reptile to get up higher in the tank.  The reptile ladder will attach to the soft mesh of the hammock or on the back wall of the terrarium so that your reptiles have plenty of space to climb.  You could create an entire 3D living space with the hammock and ladder for a pleasing look and useable system for your reptile.
Reptiles can also climb trees, but the ladder is still useful if you want to make it easy and look creative.  Along with the hammock and the ladder there is another option to add to the living space.  You may have trouble with your live food drowning in the pond or water bowl for your pet reptile.  Zoo Med has an arboreal lagoon ‘hammock’ which has a removable water or food bowl.  You can use this hammock as a place for your pet to rest or as the food dish.
It is designed to sit between the side and back wall of the tank to use the space efficiently.  As a corner setup you will not be wasting space and still provide a place for your reptile.  The ladder purchase you make will help the reptile get up to the food or hammock.  It also provides a pool lounging area if you do not want to use it as drinking water.  Your pet reptile can lie in the watery hammock and look down at the earth below.
Also, you can have the setup just a few inches off the floor of the tank.  You may not want the heater to make the water too hot if it is for drinking.  By using the arboreal lagoon the water can stay at a good drinking temperature, and also be a hammock when your reptile desires.
